For physical therapy clinics

Remote therapeutic monitoring your patients will actually do.

KineTrue guides each patient through the exercises you prescribed, using the camera already on their phone or laptop. Every session comes back to your therapists as reps, hold time, range of motion, form quality, and pain, with the day-by-day record that RTM device-supply and management codes are built on.

How it works for your clinic

Assign, let the camera coach, review on your schedule.

Four steps, none of them live monitoring. Your therapists keep their clinic hours and see the between-visit work when they choose to look.

Assign the program

Pick exercises by category (upper body, lower body, balance, flexibility, strength, endurance), set reps or hold time and a difficulty level, and the patient is notified.

The patient does a guided session

In the browser, with on-device camera guidance that counts reps, times holds, and checks form in real time. Each day's work is its own record.

Results arrive, not video

Per exercise: reps, seconds held, range of motion, a form quality score, and the patient's pain rating. Completion per day builds the data-days count device-supply codes depend on.

Review, message, and document

Open any session, message the patient, and run online or in-person appointments from the same record. Your review time and interactive contact are yours to document and bill.

What every session records

Five numbers per exercise, every time.

FieldWhat it isWhy your therapist cares
RepsRepetitions counted by the camera for dynamic exercises.Did they do the dose, and did it slow down in the last set.
Hold timeSeconds held for static exercises such as wall sits and planks.25 seconds instead of 30 says more than a tick box.
Range of motionJoint angle estimated from the camera, logged per exercise.Trend over weeks under the same setup, not a clinic-grade single reading.
Form qualityA score for how closely the movement matched the reference.Read with pain: quality falling while pain climbs is a different story from quality falling alone.
PainThe patient's own pain rating for that exercise, that session.Dose decisions between visits, and the record behind them.
RTM billing fit

How the record maps to the RTM codes.

KineTrue does not submit claims or decide eligibility. It keeps the day-by-day record and the contact history that these codes are documented against. Bill under your plan of care with the right modifiers, and confirm rates and rules with your biller.

CodeWhat it coversWhat KineTrue gives you
98975Initial setup and patient education on the device, once per episode.Patient onboarding, program assignment, and the first guided session, dated.
98977Musculoskeletal device supply with data on 16 or more days in a 30-day period.A per-day completion record for every assigned exercise, so days with data are countable.
98985New for 2026: device supply with data on 2 to 15 days in a 30-day period. The same daily record, which now earns something for less engaged patients.
98980First 20 minutes of treatment management in a calendar month, with at least one interactive communication.Session review, in-app messages, and video appointments in one timeline; your minutes are yours to document.
98981Each additional 20 minutes of treatment management in the month. The same timeline, for patients who need more follow-up.
98979New for 2026: 10 to 19 minutes of treatment management in a calendar month.Makes a short monthly check-in billable rather than a loss.

From 1 January 2026 these codes are "sometimes therapy" services that therapists bill with a GP, GO, or GN modifier under a plan of care. Only one clinician may bill RTM for a patient in a 30-day period, and RTM and RPM cannot be billed in the same month. Medicare rates vary by locality; commercial and Medicaid coverage varies by payer and state. Every code, with its 2026 rate and rules, is on our RTM CPT codes reference.

Estimate

What RTM could add each month.

Start from your enrolment numbers. The rates are editable defaults, not a promise; the calculation is simple on purpose so your biller can check it.

Rates per patient (edit to match your locality and payer)

Estimated gross RTM reimbursement
$2,130

per month, about $71 per enrolled patient

  • 98975 setup$600
  • 98977 device supply$720
  • 98985 short supply$0
  • 98980 management$810

An estimate, not a quote. It excludes 98981 add-on time, denials, staff time, and software cost, and assumes Medicare coverage. Check your rates in the CMS Physician Fee Schedule lookup and confirm eligibility and documentation with your biller.

Built for clinics without an IT department

Running in a week, not a quarter.

  • Browser-based for patients and therapists, so there is nothing to install or update
  • Patients bring the phone or laptop they already own
  • Therapists review when they choose; no live monitoring shifts
  • Messages, video appointments, and session results in one patient record
  • Notifications when a plan changes or an appointment is coming up

Pricing is simple and sized for independent practices. Ask us for a quote for your clinic size on the demo call.

Security, in one paragraph.

Video is analysed on the patient's device and never uploaded. Only session results, messages, and appointments are stored. Access follows roles, connections use HTTPS, and we will sign a BAA and share our security summary before you commit.

Clinic questions

What owners ask on the first call.

Something else? Ask us directly.

Do our patients need special hardware?

No. A phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and a modern browser is enough. There is nothing to install and no wearable sensor to ship, charge, or lose.

Does KineTrue replace our EMR or billing system?

No. KineTrue runs alongside them. It records the home exercise work and the between-visit contact; your clinic keeps documenting and billing in the systems you already use. Session summaries can be shared with your biller, and we can discuss integrations for your setup.

Who does the monitoring?

Your therapists, on their own schedule. They review completed sessions, pain reports, and messages between visits rather than watching anything live. In-app messages and video appointments are part of the patient record, which helps document the monthly interactive communication that treatment-management codes require. Confirm documentation requirements with your biller.

Is patient video stored anywhere?

No. Movement analysis happens on the patient's device and the video is never uploaded or recorded. Only the results of each exercise are saved: reps, hold time, range of motion, a quality score, and the pain the patient reports.

How accurate is the range of motion from a phone camera?

Good enough to track change over time under consistent conditions, and not a replacement for a goniometer in clinic. Single-camera estimates are most accurate for the joint facing the camera and weaker for ankles and rotation. We publish the research behind that on our blog so your clinicians can judge it themselves.

How do we get started?

Book a 20-minute demo. If it fits, we set up your clinic and a therapist account, you enrol a handful of patients, and we review the first two weeks of sessions together before you roll it out further.

Next step

See it with one of your own patients.

Twenty minutes on a video call: a live guided session, the therapist workspace, and your questions about billing fit.
